AZERBAIJAN-TATARISTAN: QUESTIONS OF DEVELOPMENT OF RELATIONS DISCUSSED
Having welcomed the guests, Heydar Babayev updated on the economic reforms conducted under the direction of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev yield fruits and a dynamic development of economy was reached in the country.
Having emphasized, that in Azerbaijan special significance is attached to expansion of the international economic cooperation, in particular, to development of links with Russia, Mr. Babayev has noted, that all assistance would be rendered to development of mutual relations with Tataristan.
At the meeting, widely were discussed prospects of expansion of cooperation and present condition of economic relations.
Guests from Tataristan made a number of offers connected with the organization in Azerbaijan of manufacture of “KamAZ” automobiles, special technics and the equipment used in petroleum industry, machines for road construction. Having noted also, that they intend to cooperate and in the organization of manufacture of refrigerators, the guests ascertained, that are interested in establishment of links with the Baku Production Association “Chinar”. The delegation of Tataristan transferred offers to minister of economic development of Azerbaijan.
Mr. Babayev, having expressed satisfaction with the interest shown to economy of Azerbaijan, has recognized expedient creation of the coordination center for studying the presented offers.
The Minister also informed visitors on the Azerbaijan investment company and has suggested discussing opportunities of participation of Tatarstan in projects together with this company. He noted, that cooperation with Fund of Encouragement of Export and Investments in Azerbaijan would be useful to development of partner relations between entrepreneurs of Tataristan and Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, it has been underlined, that carrying out business-forums also would be useful to expansion of links between businessmen.
Minister of trade and external economic cooperation of the Republic of Tatarstan Hafiz Salikhov has noted, that the meeting would play the important role in expansion of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tatarstan.
