“Azerbaijan plans to launch a Tier-III Data Centre in May-June, 2015,” said representative of the Center for International Relations and Accounting of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies Mazahir Guliyev.

He said the facility was of great economic and international importance. “The centre will open a new chapter in cooperation between local and international business sectors.”

Guliyev added that the data centre will be launched after US-based Uptime Institute completes certification of the facility.

Google and Facebook already said they will cooperate with the centre, which will be established under a project of the United Nations Development Programme.
