AZERBAIJAN, UKRAINE: NOTABLE PROGRESS ACHIEVED IN RELATIONS
Minister Mammadyarov has expressed satisfaction with dynamic changes of development of the relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, highly has estimated fruitful cooperation on a bilateral basis and within the framework of the international organizations.
Having touched the prospects of GUAM, the Minister has noted interest of the Azerbaijan side that the given structure has received the status of the international organization, and has expressed confidence that the cooperation directed on strengthening within the framework of the Organization of struggle with narcotics smuggling, terrorism, the organized crime, will bring in the contribution to the given process, has emphasized, that there are ample opportunities for cooperation of our countries in non-oil sector, including in the field of agriculture, agro-business and in other spheres.
The Ukrainian visitor, having noted, that in relations between two countries had been achieved significant progress, has confirmed adherence to development of the given ties on an equal and mutually advantageous basis, has emphasized, that necessity of cooperation in the framework of GUAM is felt in the field of power safety.
Having touched the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, A. Kinakh has declared, that the government of Ukraine supports peace settlement of the given problem on the basis of norms and principles of international law, territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
The sides have emphasized necessity of strengthening of cooperation on a bilateral basis and within the framework of the international organizations for settlement of the frozen conflicts, and also, having carried out exchange of views connected to the conflict in Kosovo, being in the center of attention of world community, have noted, that they support settlement of question on the basis of inviolability of the borders recognized at the international level. It has been underlined, that if the conflict will be settled on the basis of other standards, then, such practice cannot be used at resolution of other conflicts.
At the meeting, the sides also had comprehensive exchange of views on a number of other questions representing mutual interest.
