AZERBAIJAN WILL BE REPRESENTED BY 32 CHESS PLAYERS
Thirty two chess players are expected to represent Azerbaijan at the European Chess Champ starting in Turkey on 28 July, Azerbaijan Chess Federation said. The tournament will be held in 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 age categories. Azerbaijani International Category Referee Lutfiyar Rustamov will be among the members of the champ’s referee panel.
912 players from 36 countries are expected to compete in the tournament.

Meanwhile, according to FIDE rating list, Teymur Rajabov, Azerbaijan, ranks first among the young chess players, and the number two is his fellow-countryman Shahriyar Mamadov, Azerbaijan Chess Federation said. Another Azerbaijani player Vugar Hashimov is also included in top 20 ranking 16.
