Azerbaijani ICT minister attends Asian Regional Summit of the World Economic Forum
Baku, September 14 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan’s Minister of Communications and IT Ali Abbasov took part in Asian Regional Summit of the World Economic Forum, taking place in Tianjin, China.
Ali Abbasov delivered speeches at sessions and plenary meetings held within the framework of the summit, focusing on new technologies, the introduction of scientific and technological achievements, innovative entrepreneurship, enhanced ICT, impact of innovative technologies on the economy and the role of government in these areas, press service of the Ministry told.
During the session titled “Hyper-connected World”, the Minister spoke about Azerbaijan’s successes in ICT sphere, the role of the country in elimination of existing digital abyss between the West and East, as well as works conducted under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in realization and supporting of international projects such as TASIM and EPEG.
Touching upon other regional projects, Abbasov informed the guests about 7th Internet Management Forum and BakuTel exhibition-conference to be held in November, 2012, in Baku.
Delivering speech at “State on ICT” panel, Abbasov gave detailed information on e-government in state-entrepreneurship, state-citizen and citizen-entrepreneur relationships, steps taken in this direction and etc.
Within the summit, Abbasov held series of bilateral meetings.
