Azerbaijani ICT Minister meets founder and CEO of private intelligence corporation Stratfor
Baku, April 19 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov has today met founder and Chief Executive Officer of private intelligence corporation Stratfor George Friedman.
During the meeting, the Minister informed Friedman about the dynamic development of Azerbaijan and transformation of the country into a leading state in the region and emphasized that, as in all spheres, and high results had been achieved in telecommunications and information technologies sphere.
Ali Abbasov spoke about the public policies implemented in this field, about large-scale projects ongoing in the country, which are of great importance both for Azerbaijan and for the entire region.
The CEO of private intelligence corporation Stratfor noted the mutual benefit of the prospects of expanding relations in the field of ICT, and along with it and in all areas of the economy saying they are closely following the ongoing transformations in Azerbaijan.
He said at the present time, several ICT-companies of the U.S. were implementing new projects in Azerbaijan and in the future U.S. companies would increase their desire to implement here new investment projects. Highly appreciating the transformation of oil revenues in other areas of the economy, Friedman noted that this step would pave the way for dynamic development in all spheres of the economy.
Saying the US-Azerbaijani business forum on information technologies, which will be held for the fourth time this year, is an event that promotes greater cooperation. George Friedman said that he would personally take part in this event, which is scheduled for May this year in Los Angeles.
Ali Abbasov invited George Friedman to the 17th Azerbaijan International Exhibition and Conference Telecommunications & Information Technologies BakuTel 2011, which will be held in Baku in November.
