Azerbaijan`s Public TV and Radio Broadcasting Company sends letter of protest to European Broadcasting Union
Baku, November 15, AZERTAC
Azerbaijan’s Public TV and Radio Broadcasting Company has sent a letter to Noel Curran, Director General of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), to protest against possible provocation by Armenia`s entry at this year`s Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
“We in Azerbaijan, 20 per cent of whose territories are under Armenian occupation, are seriously concerned about information that Misha Grigoryan who will represent Armenia at this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Tbilisi will commit a political provocation. It is unacceptable for Misha Grigoryan to demonstrate the flag of the self-proclaimed “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic” and introduce himself as a member of “Voices of Artsakh” band under the pretext of his Khankendi origin.”
The Public TV said it believes that the European Broadcasting Union will show understanding of Azerbaijan’s position on this sensitive issue, resolutely prevent the possible political provocation and will not allow children to become victims of separatism and a political tool.
