Azerbaijan’s role in Middle Corridor discussed

Azerbaijan’s role in the North–South and East–West (Middle Corridor) international transport corridors passing through the country was discussed.
The first meeting of the International Transport Forum (ITF) Working Group on Freight Transport Efficiency and Digitalization was held.
Representatives of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Secretariat of the Coordinating Council on Transit Freight, the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, and Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC represented Azerbaijan at the hybrid-format meeting.
The participants were informed about institutional mechanisms aimed at developing Azerbaijan’s transit potential, including the efforts of the Coordinating Council.
The meeting also addressed the steady growth of transit freight traffic and the expansion of container transportation, as well as the goals of the North–South and East–West (Middle Corridor) international transport corridors and Azerbaijan’s role in their development.
