AZERI GOVERNMENT BELIEVES NAGORNO-KARABAKH ISSUE WILL BE ‘PRIORITY’ DURING ERDOGAN`s US TALKS
Baku, April 7 (AZERTAC). Head of socio-political affairs department at the Azerbaijani President`s Administration has expressed the government`s confidence that settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict would be among priority issues Turkey`s Prime Minister would discuss during his forthcoming Washington visit.
Ali Hasanov said: “What we hope for is that the president of the United States, a Minsk group co-chairing country, will force official Yerevan into a constructive stance and press Armenia to give up its aggressive position.”
“The major condition for ensuring peace in the region is Armenia`s giving up its aggressive policy,” he added.
“We hope the Nagorno-Karabakh issue will top the agenda of the talks between the United States and Turkey`s Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan and they will press the Armenian president through a certain mechanism.”
