“AZERNEFT” COMPETE IN CEV CUP
The matches in the sixth group of the Top volleyball men’s teams Cup wrapped up in Skopie, Macedonia. The last Azerbaijan champion “Azerneft” represented the country in the tournament.
Azerbaijani volleyball players secured 3:1 and 3:0 wins over Cyprus club “Neosalamina” and Albanian “Tirana” respectively.
Despite senior coach Felix Mammadov’s men were defeated 3:0 by host team “Rabotnichki”, the Azerbaijan national team ranked second. Thus, Azerbaijani team will continue competing for the European Volleyball Confederation /CEV/ cup for the first time in the history.
On November 11-12, Azerbaijani team will compete with “Geneva”, “Paok”, and “Srvena Zvezda” in the CEV Cup Group 5.
