AZERTAJ-ITAR-TASS: ISSUES OF CO-OP DISCUSSED
Director general of AzerTAj Aslan Aslanov and director general of ITAR-TASS Vitaly Ignatenko in their remarks noted that mutual cooperation, including expansion of news exchange are of special importance in the current period of globalization.
It was noted that intensive development last years of the Azerbaijani-Russian links in all fields filled the cooperation between the leading news agencies of our countries.
On February 6, 2004, within the framework of official visit of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Russia, the cooperation agreement between AzerTAj and ITAR-TASS has been signed in the field of information, and in March of this year - the report concerning execution of the given agreement that has created in this connection necessary legal base.
It has been underlined that AzerTAj is interested in wider circulation of the truth about Azerbaijan on world information space with use of opportunities of ITAR-TASS - one of the largest news agencies of planet, and also use of experience of this Agency, including in the field of modern information technologies.
V. Ignatenko has noted that is necessary to pay special attention to wide circulation on world information space of messages on the event of last years in Azerbaijan’s economic development which at first sight draws attention of visitors, has expressed readiness of ITAR-TASS to render the necessary help in this cause.
At the meeting, also were exchanged views concerning prospects of mutual cooperation, made specific proposals.
