Barça make it official, Eric García extends contract until 2031

Barcelona announced this Friday that Eric García is renewing with the club and will stay until 2031, according to OneFootball.
Eric, who grew up in the Blaugrana academy, ended up moving to Manchester City in 2017 for 1.7 million euros. There, he developed so much that it earned him a return to Barça.
He returned to Camp Barça in 2021, which led him to be a starter at times with the team and also with the Spanish national team under Luis Enrique's guidance.
Criticism came towards Eric, who went on loan to Girona in 2023, where he had an outstanding season.
He returned to Barcelona in 2024 and ended up being a versatile player, both in midfield and at full-back or center-back, finishing last season at a spectacular level.
Eric García has started the 2025/26 season at the same level he ended last season, which has led to his renewal until 2031.
The club has announced that the renewal will be signed next Thursday the 11th, and there will be an official event at 1:30 PM, something that will be very special for the player.
