Belarus decides to withdraw from CIS customs authorities interaction protocol

Belarus has decided to withdraw from a protocol governing interaction between customs authorities of the CIS. The decision is stipulated in Council of Ministers’ resolution No.84 of 16 February 2026, regarding the withdrawal of the State Customs Committee of Belarus from the protocol on interaction between customs authorities of CIS member states, which was published on the National Legal Internet Portal, BelTA has learned.
The document states that the Council of Ministers agrees with the proposal of the State Customs Committee to withdraw the committee from the protocol on the interaction of customs authorities of CIS countries when conducting post-clearance audit. The protocol was signed on 5 September 2012 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
It also notes that this proposal was coordinated with two ministries – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Justice Ministry. The government has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send the appropriate notification regarding the customs committee’s withdrawal from this protocol.
The main provisions of the resolution came into force on the date of its adoption.
