Belarus` Security Council to consider new national security concept
Baku, October 19 (AZERTAC). The Security Council of Belarus is set to consider a new draft wording of the national security concept in its session on 19 October, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said opening the session, according to BelTA.
“It is one of the documents which is very important for the country`s sustainable development. It explains the essence of the many-sided activity aimed at securing the balance of interests between an individual, the society and the state, their protection from potential and real threats,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.
According to the head of state, the previous concept was approved in 2001, and it played its positive role. The concept spelled out major lines of the state security policy and helped develop a methodological basis of the national security system.
At the same time the current geopolitical situation, global transformations, unprecedented in their scale and dynamism, require highlighting new key accents. Therefore there is a need to revise the national security concept.
