BP AZERBAIJAN SPUDDING NEW WELLS

BP Azerbaijan said it is currently conducting some well sidetracks and well surveillance operations prior to spudding the twenty first water injection well (A21) from the Chirag platform.

The Company also spudded the first well (which will be a gas injector) from the Central Azeri (CA) platform.

BP Azerbaijan plans to drill five wells from the CA platform this year, of which four will be production wells and one a gas injector.

According to the Company, tie-back of all four pre-drilled wells to the West Azeri (WA) platform was completed and platform drilling operations would be commenced within the next few days.

The first platform well is scheduled to be completed by the end of May.

WA plans to drill four production wells this year.
