BSEC MEMBER COUNTRIES DISCUSSED POVERTY PROBLEMS
The session focused issue of poverty abolishment in the BSEC member countries, Chairman of the Committee, deputy chairman of the MM standing committee on regional issues Mr. Shaitdin Aliyev told AzerTAj correspondent.
Mr. Sh. Aliyev spoke of the reforms conducted in Azerbaijan in poverty reduction sphere, updated the participants on the appropriate state program of Azerbaijan Republic. The orator also touched upon the problems, including the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict, occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands by the Armenian aggression, over one million of refugees ousted from their homelands as the result of this aggression, plight of the refugee and IDPs, destruction of industrial objects and historical-cultural monuments of Azerbaijan.
In the bilateral meetings, the participants also focused presidential elections in Azerbaijan. Leadership of BSEC stated that it would send observers to watch these elections of Azerbaijan.
The discussed problems will be on the agenda of the Bucharest session of BSEC countries.
