CE CONCERNED WITH SITUATION IN GEORGIA
The Council of Europe disseminated a statement whereby expresses its concerns with the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections in Georgia, AzerTAj correspondent reports from Paris.
Leadership of this influential organization called on the political forces in Georgia to find ways out of this crisis in the frame of national Constitution.
In the joint statement of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Walter Schwimmer and PACE chairman Peter Schieder, it is stated: “We call on all political forces to refrain from using force and find democratic resolution to the problem in the frame of Constitution”.
The Council of Europe stated its readiness to assist Georgia to come out of the crisis.
