A joint session of the State Committee for Women’s Affairs, UN Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and the Council of Europe was held to discuss the resolution “Role of Women and Men in Prevention of Conflicts, Establishment of Peace, and Democratic Processes After Settlement Conflicts – Gender Perspective”, adopted at the conference in Scopje. The document is dealing with the role of women in settlement of conflicts and peacemaking.

For realization of the recommendations reflected in the resolution, a working group consisting of representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations was founded at the conference, the Committee reports.
