Regular sitting of the Central Election Commission chaired by Mazahir Panahov was held 12 September.

After the protocol of the previous sitting was approved, deputy chairperson of the Central Election Commission Svetlana Gasimova informed on the question concerning amendment to staff of the district commission of Imishli-Beylagan election commission number 60, on which the CEC adopted appropriate decision.

Member of CEC Fuad Javadov informed on appeals and complaints received in connection with elections to be conducted on 6 October 2006. The appeals will be sent to related election commission.

Secretary of CEC Natig Mammadov made information on the appeals received by CEC from the Helsinki Civil Assembly in connection with elections. As this structure is not a non-governmental organization, acting in the sphere of elections, the appeal was rejected.

The sitting also focused current issues.

Representatives of International Fund of Election Systems (USA) and mass media took part at the sitting.
