CENTRAL ELECTION COMMISSION HOLDS REGULAR MEETING
The Commission first discussed the Instruction on forming initiative groups of voters in the election to the Milli Majlis, rules of nomination of candidates by citizens on their own initiative. Speaking in the matter was CEC Secretary Ingilab Nasirov. The Instruction has been approved.
The Commission also considered approval of Rules of giving subscription lists to a candidate, his plenipotentiary, those of political parties and a bloc of political parties by district election commissions. The Central Election Commission has adopted the resolution to approve the document.
Deputy CEC Chairman Svetlana Gasymova reported on the agenda for seminar-conference to be held in connection with preparation for 19 October 2004 by-election to the Milli Majlis. The Commission members have approved the agenda proposed.
During the meeting, they have also adopted the resolution on making changes to staffs of Julfa-Babak No 5, Sabirabad-Kurdamir No 65, Zagatala No 110 and Shaki No 113 election districts.
After that current issues have been discussed.
The Commission’s meeting was attended by representatives of Baku office of the International Foundation for Election Systems, as well as those of local and foreign mass media.
