Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan takes all efforts to organization of the upcoming Presidential Elections of October 15 2003 at high level and takes steps within the frames of the law. The Central Elections Commission does its best so that world public could get objective and operative information about Presidential Elections, a fatal issue for Azerbaijani people, carries out a number of special actions in this field. Representatives of over 80 mass media, 20 out of which are foreign journalists have been accredited today by the Central Elections Commission. An independent center has been created within the framework of the above-mentioned actions at the Central Elections Commission for making easier the work of mass media to release true and operative information on the forthcoming Presidential elections of October 15, 2003 in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Independent center under the Central Elections Commission is equipped with modern techniques; representatives of local and foreign mass media may use computers and faxes as well as Internet services. Internet-site of the center will reflect the announcements about the elections. Representatives of mass media may place objective information about the elections at that page as well. It should be reminded that the journalists would use all these service free of charge.

Besides, release of any information, press conferences and briefings can be organized by the center.
