CIS ECONOMIC COUNCIL DISCUSSED INTEGRATION ISSUES
The agenda included a wide-range of issues, course of fulfillment of CIS Economic Council’s resolutions, preparation for the regular sitting of the council of CIS state and government heads to be held in two weeks in Yalta and projects of development and realization of interstate and intergovernmental cooperation programs in the economy.
In the course of the sitting, it was stated that draft plan on vital actions was proposed as a final document on development of interactions in the economic sphere. The basic actions, considered by members of CIS economic council, is creation of CIS legal area oriented to international standards in interstate economic relations and directed to creation of efficient realization mechanism of resolutions and agreements within the CIS. Removal of trade barriers, creation of effective payment system, formation of relevant legal base providing bona fide competition in national markets are expected.
The other issue was the course of bilateral negotiations on tariff restriction issues and agreeing of on their systematic lifting. To date, process of fixation of tariff restrictions has already been completed.
There were 17 issues on the agenda, which were considered by CIS representatives within the frames of preparations for the upcoming summit. As a whole, participants expressed their satisfaction with integration process within the CIS.
