FM of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov on Wednesday met Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, Executive Secretary Vladimir Rushailo, AZERTAC reported.

Vladimir Rushailo told of necessity of the development of humanitarian cooperation in the CIS space, strengthening of education and cultural links, noting the establishment of special foundation for humanitarian cooperation. He also informed on agenda of the 10th International Economic Forum due on 8-10 June in St. Petersburg.

Minister Mammadyarov positively estimated the projects aimed at development of humanitarian cooperation in the framework of Commonwealth, emphasizing that Azerbaijan attaches special attention to the relations with the CIS states. Azerbaijani officials will certainly attend the international forum, he said.

Noting the raising political and economic prestige of Azerbaijan, Mr. Rushailo said that settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict and restoration of stability in region would promote further strengthening of the Azerbaijani statehood, expressed hope for success in the peace talks expected in the framework of forum between the sides.
