COE DELEGATION MEETS MINISTER OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS
According to the press-service of the Ministry, General-colonel Ramil Usubov provided the guests with comprehensive information on activity and roles of the Ministry, criminogenic situation in the country, fight against crime, bringing police activities in line with democratic values, passing related laws and other legal reforms.
At the same time, Minister of Internal Affairs Ramil Usubov told of existing problems related to police activities, fight against terrorism, illicit drug trafficking and migration.
Council of Europe Secretary General Walter Schwimmer thanked the Interior Minister fir the warm meeting and detailed information, and expressed satisfaction with legal and democratic reforms being held in conformity with European standards, as well as progress gained in the sphere of fight against organized crime.
The parties have also had a comprehensive opinions exchange on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
