CUSTOMS SERVICES IN AZERBAIJAN TO BE MODERNIZED

Beginning from the end of current year, in the frame of TACIS, it will be realized the project “Modernization of customs services in Azerbaijan”, the Bureau of national coordination on technical assistance of the European Union to the Azerbaijan Republic told AzerTAj correspondent.

The project envisions issues of legislation and customs rules, customs control, strategy of information technologies, management of human resources. For realization of the Project, the European Commission set aside 700 thousand Euros and extra 100 thousand Euros to acquire equipment.

It has to be mentioned that in accordance with the contract on partnership and cooperation, signed in 1996 between the government of Azerbaijan and the European Commission, this project will be implemented within two years.
