Digital Communications” information system to be established in Azerbaijan
Baku, October 15, AZERTAC
President Ilham Aliyev has signed an Order on the establishment of the “Digital Communications” information system and the regulation of related matters.
According to the Order, the new information system is intended to improve administration and user satisfaction in the telecommunications and postal services sectors, as well as to digitalize the services provided.
The “Digital Communications” information system will play a key role in regulatory oversight and supervision in the fields of communications and information and communication technologies (ICT). It will also help ensure the efficiency, effectiveness and transparency of interactions with government agencies, local self-government bodies, individuals and legal entities.
Under the Order, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport will act as the owner of the system, while the Information and Communication Technologies Agency will serve as its operator.
The ministry has been instructed to take the necessary measures to establish, organize and develop the system, host it on the “Government Cloud,” and ensure its inclusion in the relevant state registries.
The relevant data are to be made available through the Electronic Government Information System within six months, in cooperation with the government agencies responsible for maintaining the original data sources.
The Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with addressing matters arising from the Order.
