DRUG CONTROL PROGRAM IN THE SOUTH CAUCASUS DISCUSSED
Azerbaijan was represented by a delegation headed by the first deputy internal minister Zahid Dunyamaliyev, SCAD Program’s press service told AzerTAj correspondent. Mr. Zahid Dunyamaliyev spoke of the role of Azerbaijan as a transit country with geographic-strategic position in drug trafficking prevention, brought to the notice of the European Union commissions and the UN relevant structures the necessity of greater allocations for the Republic to better efficiency of drug combat.
Mr. Dunyamaliyev, at the same time, stated Azerbaijan government’s readiness for any kind of cooperation with the leading world states, authoritative international organizations and donor countries in prevention of illegal drug circulation and drug trafficking, in combat against international terrorism and man trade.
At the session, national coordinator of the SCAD Program Mazahir Efendiyev informed on the work done in the frame of the III Project of the Program.
Also was discussed the plan of activity of Azerbaijan Government in the frame of the IV project of the Program for 2004 in the field of drug combat.
Heads of the three South Caucasus republics signed final resolution on the conclusions of the session.
