A seminar on the topic “Drugs supply restriction” with the participation of the Organization for Economic Cooperation member states was ended in the capital of Tajikistan, AzerTAj correspondent reports.

Azerbaijan was represented by head of the working group of the State Commission on combat with illicit drugs Israfil Aliyev and head of the main department on combat with drugs of the Ministry of Interior Affairs Ilgar Mahmudov.

Issues dealing with the drugs situation in Afghanistan, its influence on the Central Asia, the Caucasus and other regions, coordination of efforts in combat with drugs, application of new technologies and others were in the focus of workshop.

Mr. Israfil Aliyev updated on drugs situation in Azerbaijan. He noted that the Law meeting the international standards “On combat with illicit drugs” had been adopted and National Program on combat with illicit drugs” approved in accordance with the Decree of President, in 2000.

Within past three years, illicit drugs growing in price 1-mln dollars were annihilated.
