Egg-shaped cabin in Beijing
Baku, December 6 (AZERTAC). Young Man in Beijing Built an Egg-shaped Cabin with 6,426 RMB to Save Money
Dai Haifei sits in his self-built, egg-shaped cabin in a yard on Chengfu Road, Haidian District, Beijing.
Dai Haifei, a 24-year-old man who graduated from college six months ago, built an egg-shaped cabin with bamboo as his “house”.
Dai`s company is located in a big yard in Haidian District, Beijing. His cabin, which looks like a giant egg stands on the lawn, is in a courtyard outside Dai`s company. The “egg” is about two meters high, it has an oval-shaped gate with no lock, which was hollowed out of the cabin`s exterior. There are wheels under the cabin and so it is convenient to move around.
The cabin`s interior is made of woven bamboo boards fastened with nails. According to Dai, above the bamboo boards are bamboo mats and two kinds of insulation that retain heat and keep out water. The exterior is made of gunny sacks, which contain grass seed which will sprout in spring.
It is simply decorated inside the cabin. There is a meter-wide bed with several books on an overhead shelf and a water tank with a pressurized system that provides water for bathing. “The whole tank is enough for three days, and I can fulfill it in my company when it is empty,” said Dai.
“Even if I don`t pay the rent I`m a Moonlite. Now my living standards have improved greatly.” Dai said he had been living in the cabin for almost two months. Since he doesn`t have to pay the rent, occasionally he can afford to enjoy his spare time in a café.
