EPIDEMIOLOGICAL POLL ON DRUGS HELD
Head of the program in Azerbaijan Mazahir Afandiyev told, August 22, a press conference related to the poll results that after joining authoritative international organizations, the republic has been taking active part in solution to some global problems. On the initiative of Azerbaijan President Heydar Aliyev, the government of the Republic has joined anti-drug campaign, and eight relevant state organizations are now co-operating in the program’s frame.
Main aim of the poll carried out in accordance with the instruction of the European Monitoring Center is to prepare the annual report on situation with drugs. The main goal of the action was to prepare annual report on the drug situation. According to Mr. Afandiyev, 1800 respondents at the age 17-24 were questioned in Baku and 200 at the age of 19-25 in Lankaran as the pilot region. It was ascertained that 20.9% of Baku respondents, and 23.3% of Lankaran had done drugs.
