FIFA opens disciplinary case against Serbia

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned the Football Association of Serbia with a fine of CHF 50,000 and a partial stadium closure (25% of the seats closed) at the next official FIFA match to be played at “A” level by its men’s national team for breaches of articles 13 (Discrimination) and 12 (Misconduct of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code in light of chants by Serbian supporters and team misconduct (individual sanctions on seven players) during the Serbia v. Switzerland FIFA World Cup™ match, according to the official website of FIFA.
In other cases, FIFA imposed fines on the Football Federations of Mexico and Ecuador for acts of discrimination by fans at the World Cup.
