FIRST AZERBAIJANI SCHOOL OPENED IN USA
In opening ceremony of the School, devoted to the Day of Independence of Republic, were taking part the employees of Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan at the United Nations, members of the Azerbaijan, Jewish and Turkish communities in New York. Speaking at the ceremony, the charge d'Affaires of Azerbaijan at United Nations Ilgar Mammadov has highly estimated this initiative of the Azeri Diaspora, has noted, that the School would play invaluable role in propagation of the Azerbaijan language, culture, its literature and history.
Deputy director of the “Federation of Turkish Societies” Erhan Ildirim, director of the Turkish school Metin Chetiner and representative of the Jewish community Nobert Yevlayev highly assessed importance of the Azerbaijani school in New York.
Official representative of the Brooklyn district Bella Weiss also has conveyed congratulations, has handed over to school a certificate.
On behalf of Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan at the United Nations, the School was donated a TV set, video system, textbooks, various books. The president of the “Azerbaijan Association of New York” Ali Nasibov and the teachers have expressed gratitude for support rendered.
