First media player with 3D display unveiled

Baku, December 1 (AZERTAC). The South Korean company Cowon has announced a portable media player with three-dimensional display. The device, equipped with 4.8-inch display, allows user to view 3D-video and images without special glasses.

The new player with an HDMI connector is capable to support playback of video standard Full HD (1080p) on the external screen. Cowon plans to launch two models of the player - with 32 and 64 GB of flash storage.

The device will support memory cards standard SD and it will have a built-in wireless Wi-Fi 802.11g. Cowon 3D will run under the operating system Windows CE 6.0.

Resolution of the media player makes up 800 x480 pixels. Battery life is sufficient for 10 hours of video playback or 45 hours of music.

The novelty will go on sale in South Korea on December 10 at a price of around $430 and $508 depending on the amount of memory.

The launching date of the device in other countries is still unknown.
