FOREIGN MINISTER OF AZERBAIJAN MET WB REPRESENTATIVE
As was informed to AzerTAj from the press center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, having expressed satisfaction with level of cooperation between the World Bank and Azerbaijan, Ahmed Jahani has stated that the great value has not only development of links on technical assistance, but also rendering to the Republic of support in all fields.
Having emphasized further development of ties of Azerbaijan with the World Bank and highly having estimated the help of this financial structure at realization of such strategic projects as to the BTC, Minister of Foreign Affairs has noted, that the country hopes for support of Bank at realization of one more large project - construction of a gas main Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum. Having noted importance of economic projects, including the systems connected to restoration water-and gas supply of Baku, solution of environmental problems and other questions, minister Elmar Mammadyarov highly estimated the role of the said in improvement of social and economic state of the Republic with 1 million refugees and IDPs.
Representative of the World Bank Ahmed Jahani has noted, that last years Azerbaijan quickly develops and also positive changes took place not only in the oil sector, but also in other spheres.
Minister E. Mammadyarov has emphasized, that the achieved successes have been provided due to foreign investors and has emphasized great role of the World Bank in this cause.
Having agreed with opinion of the Minister, Ahmed Jahani has told that he would try to spread information on favorable conditions and effective investment environment, created in Azerbaijan for businessmen, and that the Republic with nine climatic zones, possesses large opportunities for manufacture of agricultural production.
Finally, Minister of Foreign Affairs has expressed to Ahmed Jahani gratitude for the help rendered by the World Bank to Azerbaijan in the field of economy, culture, tourism and in other spheres.
