FRENCH-ALGERIAN COOPERATION EXPANDING
President of France Jacques Chirac has received at the Elysee Palace 15 ministers led by the Prime Minister of the country Jean - Pierre Raffarin and has carried out exchange of opinions on questions of expansion of special cooperation with Algeria. After the visit to Algeria in March 2003, the head of the state has decided even more to develop and strengthen the French-Algerian connections.
8 ministers of France up to the end of year will visit Algeria, and 6 Algerian ministers will make visit to France. The purpose of these visits consists in studying prospects of cooperation between two countries and rendering of all-round aid to the country which in due time was a colony of France.
France also plans to expand the cultural network in Algeria. In September of this year opening the cultural centers are planned in Konstantin, and in 2005 – in Tlemsen. In this connection, it was adopted resolution to simplify a visa regime for simplification of entrance and departure of citizens of both countries.
Cooperation in military sphere also will play important role in development of connections between two countries.
