‘Friends’ cast returning to NBC in February

Your favorite “Friends” will be back on NBC one last time this February, network president Bob Greenblatt announced during his executive session at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif. on Wednesday morning.
NBC is hoping that all six members of the “Friends” cast — Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer — will appear in a two-hour special dedicated to the career of veteran comedy director James Burrows, which will air Sunday, Feb. 21 at 9 p.m. on NBC. Burrows directed fifteen episodes of the iconic sitcom, including “The One Where Ross and Rachel Take a Break,” which launched one of the show’s most memorable quotes.
But there’s a caveat — while the six stars are expected to participate, they won’t all be together for the special — Matthew Perry is currently in London for rehearsals of his play, “The End of Longing,” which begins previews on February 2 at the Playhouse Theatre and marks the thesp’s playwriting debut. The actor may instead contribute a taped segment.
"Friends" originally aired on NBC from September 1994 to May 2004 and revolved around six friends living in Manhattan, becoming one of the most popular TV shows of all time. The series was nominated for 62 Primetime Emmy Awards.
