The General Debates under the theme "Leaving no one behind: acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations" commenced Tuesday in New York, US, within the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The General Debates featured the opening remarks of Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General and Philemon Yang, President of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly.

Presidents of Brazil, US and Türkiye will also deliver speeches.

Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, will address the debates on September 28.

The General Debates will run until September 30.
