General Manager highlights Türkiye’s petrochemical potential
Ankara, August 13, AZERTAC
“Significant transformations are taking place in the petrochemical sector, with Türkiye being one of the countries holding major advantages in this area,” Kenan Mirzayev, General Manager of Petkim Petrokimya Holding Inc., a unit of SOCAR Türkiye, said in an interview with Turkish newspaper Hürriyet.
According to Mirzayev, Türkiye’s industrial expertise, qualified workforce, strong domestic market dynamics, investment opportunities, and advanced production infrastructure create substantial opportunities for the brotherly country in the period ahead.
He noted that the world has entered a new era, adding that competition is now based not only on production capacity, but also on supply security, efficiency, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing market needs.
“Given its strategic location at the intersection of Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, Türkiye, with its advanced industrial infrastructure and continuously growing domestic market, has significant potential to become a regional hub for the production and supply of petrochemical products. Moreover, given its high dependence on imports, particularly petrochemical products, we believe that every step taken toward strengthening local production capacity is of strategic importance for both the industry and the overall Turkish economy,” Mirzayev added.
