GEORGIAN PRIME MINISTER ZURAB NOGAIDELI: “ECONOMY OF GEORGIA IS OPEN FOR AZERBAIJANI INVESTORS”
“The economy of Georgia is open for Azerbaijani investors,” said Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli at the meeting with the delegation of the Caspian Integration Business Club (CIBC).
Discussions at the meeting also revolved around CIBC’s activity in Azerbaijan. Z. Nogaideli said Azerbaijani businessmen would become one of the major investment partners for Georgia this year.
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan purchased the oil terminal at the Black Sea coast of Georgia. Prime Minister pointed out that a railway is being laid to the terminal. The railway will be operational by summer. Moreover, it is scheduled to construct the refinery near the terminal. Thus, SOCAR will directly deliver oil to the Georgian market.
Nogaideli noted that the International Bank of Azerbaijan had received a license for operating in Georgia, saying, “I think that thanks to this concrete work, new investments from Azerbaijan will go to the economy of Georgia”.
