GOVERNMENT OF AZERBAIJAN AND UN SIGN FRAMEWORK DOCUMENT
On behalf of the Azerbaijan Government, the document was signed by Minister of Economic Development Farhad Aliyev, and on behalf of the United Nations - by the UN Resident-coordinator in Azerbaijan Marco Borsotti, UNICEF representative in Azerbaijan Akif Saatchioglu, representatives of the World Food Program Rahman Chowdhry and of the UN High Commissioner for refugees Bogdan Nakhayla.
The document aims to bring the implementation of the UN’s programs in Azerbaijan to conformity with priority directions of the country’s development and its needs within coming five years of cooperation between the Azerbaijani Government and the agencies of this international structure.
According to UNDAF, the United Nations will assist the Government of Azerbaijan to up employment opportunities in non-oil sector, improve human rights protection with involvement of civil society in line with international standards, health and nutrition of the population, level of education, and to develop gender equality and civil society.
