GUAM SESSION ATTACHES SPECIAL ATTENTION TO INTERACTION OF COORDINATION AMONG LAW ENFORCEMENT BODIES OF MEMBER STATES
Baku, 13 November (AZERTAC). As earlier reported, in Tbilisi, on November 11-12 current year the 12th session of GUAM Working Group on combat against terrorism, the organized crime and drug trafficking has taken place. Deputy Ministers from the member states joined the event. The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia I. Merabishvili, the deputy minister of internal affairs of Georgia G. Lordkipanidze, the Secretary General of GUAM V. Chechelashvili, heads and members of delegations of member states and GUAM Secretariat attended the session. Azerbaijan was represented by the deputy minister of internal affairs V. Eyvazov.
Participants of session heard the Report of 2009 and coordinated the Plan of work for 2010, also considered results of joint operation of law enforcement bodies of GUAM member states on combat against drug trafficking, “Narkostop-2009” and course of carrying out of joint operation in sphere of combat against human trafficking, “Perekhvat-2009”.
Also were discussed questions of harmonization and perfection of the legislation of GUAM member states in law-enforcement sphere and mechanisms of its realization, including ratification or confirmation of the Report concerning protection of the information, signed in Helsinki on December 4, 2008, and developments of contract-legal ground of bilateral cooperation.
The special attention was given to questions of coordination of interaction among the law enforcement bodies of GUAM member states.
