HEAT THREATENS TO FRENCH NUCLEAR REACTORS

Unprecedented heat in France threatens the operational safety of nuclear reactors. This statement has been released by the secretariat of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna citing the statement of the French government.

The statement reads, French government considers the limitation of electric power in the country after nuclear power experts announced that they had had no effective possibilities to cool nuclear reactors operating in that country. Temperature around the reactors is approaching the “safety limit” of +50 degrees C. Such situation may seriously affect the French economy, which mainly depends on atomic power, experts say.
