I FORUM OF HEADS OF AZERBAIJAN AND TURKISH DIASPORAS TO OPEN NEW STAGE
A press conference was held on February 12 on preparation for the forthcoming I forum of heads of the Azerbaijan and Turkish Diaspora organizations to be organized on March 9 in Baku.
Nazim Ibrahimov, chairman of the State committee on work with Azerbaijanis Living Abroad said the State Committee and Coordination Council of World Azerbaijanis has set up an Organizing Committee, and now corresponding works are being carried out.
According to his words, representatives of the state and governmental structures of Azerbaijan and Turkey as well as those of influential Azerbaijan and Turkish communities in foreign countries, Turkic peoples and states will take part in the forum. “As a whole, participation of about 450 delegates is expected from 48 countries, including different persons, politicians, members of parliaments and governments, well-known scientists and representatives of intelligentsia from more than 30 countries, having merits in development of Azerbaijan and Turkish Diaspora organizations and actively participating in protection of our national interests,” he added.
The Committee chairman also noted that questions on development of relations for strategic partnership between the Turkic states, expansion of cooperation in the field of Diaspora constructions, informing the world community about history, modern life, level of social and economic development, culture of Turkic peoples, increasing efficiency of Diaspora organizations’ activity will be discussed in the forum.
