IAEA calls for global nuclear security

Baku, June 21 (AZERTAC). A Ministerial Conference held by the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, called for a "global regime of nuclear liability."

The adopted statement stresses the importance of national and international measures to ensure the strictest level of nuclear safety based on IAEA rules.

Conference participants consider it essential that all countries with nuclear power plants carry out a comprehensive assessment of risk and security in response to the accident at the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant in Japan.
