IMF DELEGATION VISITED AZERBAIJAN
A meeting dedicated to results of the visit of mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was held at the Economic Development Ministry in Baku. The mission comprised deputy director of the Department of Fund on the countries of the Near East and Central Asia Vitaly Kramarenko, experts of IMF Maria Zermeno and Shuang Dink.
In meeting, discussed were results of the visit of mission of IMF to Azerbaijan, realization of the projects entering the State Investment Program, management of the State Investment Program for 2008, inflation and other questions.
Minister of Economic development Heydar Babayev in detail informed representatives of IMF on the basic directions of the State Investment Program, the planned projects, the measures which are carried out for prevention of growth of inflation. Mr. Babayev has noted, that priorities of the State Investment Program are such spheres as energy, education, and public health services, transport, processing of agricultural production, purification of the lands polluted with oil and land improvement, as well as waste processing.
At the meeting concerning influence of price reforms discussions also took place in power and municipal sectors on quality of service and other problems. The head of mission of IMF V. Kramarenko has expressed satisfaction with the meetings carried out within the visit to Baku with a management of the ministries of Economic Development, Finance, National Bank. He emphasized value of joint activity of these of 3 structures for prevention of acceleration of inflation in Azerbaijan.
