INDEPENDENCE DAY MARKED IN TASHKENT
Celebration of the 12th anniversary of independence of Azerbaijan has been held in Tashkent restaurant “Novruz”. Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan Aydin Azimbeyov greeted the audience at the ceremony and congratulated them on this holiday. The ambassador reported on the victory gained by Prime Minister Ilham Aliyev in the presidential elections of October 15 and noted that foreign observers watching the transparent and democratic elections had stated of the high level of elections’ conduction.
The ambassador wished the President-elect every success in this responsible post.
In conclusion, local famous singers Zeynab Karimova and Veli Shirinov sang songs and tesnifs, while the children’s dancing ensemble “Bulbuller” performed Azerbaijani dances.
This event was attended by deputy Premier of Uzbekistan Eler Ganiyev, representatives of Azerbaijani Diaspora etc.
