Information system to be established to ensure energy efficiency

President Ilham Aliyev has approved amendments to the Law “On the Efficient Use of Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency,” aimed at strengthening state control over the efficient use of energy resources and improving energy efficiency in Azerbaijan.
Under the amendments, an energy efficiency information system will be established to ensure the efficient use of energy resources, maintain a register of energy auditors and organizations conducting energy audits, monitor their activities, publicly disclose relevant information, and raise awareness of energy efficiency issues. The system will also include data on energy certification of buildings, a list of economic entities and non-residential buildings subject to mandatory energy audits, energy service providers, and related reports.
The amendments further provide for the inclusion of energy consumer data and detailed information on construction sites in the system, as well as the approval of rules governing the operation of the energy efficiency information system.
