INTERNAL MINISTER MET WITH US AMBASSADOR
Greeting the guest, the Internal Minister congratulated him with the new appointment and expressed a hope that relations between America and Azerbaijan, including Internal Ministry of Azerbaijan and the US law-enforcement bodies will expand and strengthen.
The parties focused issues of combat against terrorism, transnational, organized and other kinds of crimes after the September 11, 2001 events, stressed the importance of exchange of data in this sphere.
It was stressed that after waiver of the 907 Section, in the frame of cooperation programs and to boost bilateral relations between the two countries, over 100 Azerbaijani policemen have attended trainings organized in both countries on the topic of combat against terrorism.
The parties also had exchange of views on the 16 October mass disorder in Baku and other issues of mutual interest.
