INTERNATIONAL PHILOSOPHY DAY MARKED

On 20 November, the Philosophy and Social-Political Sciences Association conducted a round table dedicated to the International Philosophy Day at the Azerbaijan University.

The round table, “World Philosophy and Development of Philosophic Thought in Azerbaijan”, was opened by rector of the Azerbaijan University MP, professor Salahaddin Khalilov.

As stated, the Philosophy Day was initiated by UNISEF and marked since 2001. It evidences to the undeniable role of philosophy in the society, the orator stressed. This should also promote development of the philosophic problems in Azerbaijan.

Speakers noted that Azerbaijan society of transition period should be subject to philosophy and its categories.

Also were speaking MPs Shahlar Askarov, Rabiyyet Aslanova, academician Fuad Gasimzade, doctor of sociology Abulfaz Suleymanov, president of the Association of Young Philosophers Elnur Rustamov and others.
