Internet can help cure depression
Baku, June 18 (AZERTAC). Swiss scientists have found that depression is not worse than the drug helps rid the Internet. Through the Internet, doctors can practice remotely on patients’ psychodynamic therapy. In the experiment, the scientists took part in two groups of patients. However, they took a course of psychodynamic therapy in relation to the Internet, the second - the traditional way. After 10 weeks of treatment showed that the positive effect of treatment in the first group is much more pronounced than in the second. Symptoms of depression decreased significantly, and patients feel comfortable without the extra help for at least 10 months.
"Compared with antidepressants and other treatments of depression is a psychodynamic therapy online showed better results," - said Dr. Robert Johansson from Linkoping University. Moreover, this kind of treatment refers to the self. Patients simply get the materials on the internet and communicate with the therapist once a week for 10 minutes via email. A great advantage of this technique is the ability to help a larger number of patients, because teleworking is less time at the doctor and he is able to drive more patients to recover.
